Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a small trees found in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. It is great to use in a DIY multi purpose home cleaner due to its antimicrobial properties. Studies have shown that it is effective against bacterial, fungal which acts as a disinfectant when used in hand sanitisers and DIY home cleaning solution.
